biography
Davide Rizza (b. 1996) is an Italian composer based in Dresden, Germany. His work focuses on exploring how complex timbres can shape time and influence its perception.
His music has been performed by ensembles and soloists such as Quartetto Maurice, Ensemble Fractales, Ensemble Lizard, Ensemble Kontakte, Mariagrazia Bellocchio, Elio Marchesini, and Alberto Cavallaro, and featured at festivals and concert series including Mixtur Festival (ES), Limina Festival (AT), Suena Festival (AT), Rondò – Divertimento Ensemble (IT), and Accademia Chigiana Festival (IT).
He studied composition at the Conservatory of Turin with Giorgio Colombo Taccani and at the Conservatory of Mantua with Maurizio Azzan, while attending masterclasses with Franck Bedrossian, Francesco Filidei, Mauro Lanza, Clara Iannotta, Dmitri Kourliandski, Pierluigi Billone, and Alberto Posadas. He is currently enrolled in the Meisterklasse-Komposition at the Hochschule für Musik Dresden with Mark Andre and Stefan Prins, and in the PhD program in composition at the Conservatory of Padua, where he explores how new technologies can be used to support compositional approaches grounded in a phenomenological perspective.
