Davide Rizza · tape, skin, piano (2026)

composed for and premiered by Mariacostanza D'Agostino at the Ramificazioni Festival

premiered on 07.05.2026, Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana, Lugano (CH)

instrumentation: piano, Electronics.

duration: 9'45''

notes: field recordings, real and synthetic voices, piano harmonics and multiphonics: tape, skin, piano explores a sound world in which these materials overlap and interact, allowing form to emerge from the unstable, constantly shifting relationship between abstract timbres and spatial allusions. The piano is limited to a small set of harmonics and multiphonics produced through direct contact between fingers and strings, while the electronic layer creates a hybrid of recorded and instrumental sound, bringing both into the same sonic space.
